About Phil Gore
Master Bodyworker & Massage Therapist
Phil Gore, Master Bodyworker and Massage Specialist is the owner of Advanced Corrective Bodywork. He has been practicing since 1999 and provides Sports Massage Therapy, Pain Management Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Injury Rehabilitation Therapy to clients located in Mound and the surrounding suburbs of Minnestrista, Spring Park, Orono, and Shorewood, MN.
Phil has been interested in health and human potential all of his adult life. Having been brought up to believe the life most worth living is a life helping others, he loves that the passion of his life helps others lead richer, fuller, happier lives. His role in his clients’ journeys of health is to assist their body’s natural healing process through awareness, education, and detailed bodywork.
Phil graduated from the prestigious Brian Utting School of Massage, now known as the Pacific Northwest School of Massage in Seattle, WA; a school nationally recognized for its excellence in deep tissue and treatment massage instruction. After returning to Minnesota, Phil taught all aspects of massage for 3 colleges in the Minneapolis area. It was a tremendous honor to work with so many wonderful people as they became fellow massage therapists. He appreciates all he has learned from his students. It was through teaching that he transferred from massage therapy to corrective bodywork. It became apparent to him that very few people are doing this much-needed branch of bodywork.
Throughout Phil’s life, he has either played, participated in, or worked on athletes from just about every sport imaginable, including underwater hockey.
This, along with his education (and continuing education), his own physical ailments, and his teaching experience, has given him a unique perspective. It has allowed him to really see and understand how the human body operates and functions in sports and life in general. He knows how the stresses of our lives and our behaviors begin to manifest pain in our bodies.
Phil believes there is more to his job than just making muscles function better and reducing or eliminating pain. He strives to put power back in the hands of his clients by explaining what’s going on with their bodies. He instructs his clients on activities they can do to help alleviate their pain and/or increase their performance. This often leads to a hopeless or frustrating situation seeming much more manageable and less stressful.
When not working with massage clients, he enjoys being a knowledge junkie, spending time outdoors, reading a good adventure novel, and, most of all, being and laughing with friends and family.
